Dear NSED Licensee,
The Nebraska State Electrical Division (NSED) is pleased to announce that we will be launching a new online licensing and permitting system on Monday, March 30, 2026.
This new system is designed to provide a more convenient, efficient, and user-friendly experience. Beginning March 30, 2026, all application submissions, permit requests, renewals, and related transactions will be processed through this single online system.
To help ensure a smooth transition, please review the important information below.
Account Registration
At launch, a link to the new system will be available on our website. Before submitting an application, permit, or renewal, you will need to register for a new account and create a password. Account registration will open when the system launches on March 30, 2026.
There is no need to register immediately at launch unless you have an upcoming licensing or permitting need. If your license renews in October, we encourage you to create your account later this summer so you are fully prepared for renewal season. We appreciate your cooperation in registering in advance while helping us ensure a smooth and efficient launch for all users.
Accessing Existing Licenses and Permits
Your existing licenses and permits* will be migrated into the new system. To access your current credentials, you will need to register for a new account and connect your account to your migrated licenses or permits. Step-by-step instructions will be available on our website, and a follow-up communication will be sent with detailed registration guidance and direct links.
*Homeowner permits must be linked by NSED Office Staff once you have registered an account. Details will be included in the registration guidance at launch.
System Email Notifications
The new system will send application confirmations, account verifications, and other important notifications by email. These emails will come from:
Please add these email addresses to your safe sender list to ensure you receive all system communications.
System Compatibility
To ensure the best experience when using the new system, please access it with a stable internet connection and a modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Internet Explorer is no longer supported and should not be used.
We appreciate your time in reviewing this information and your patience as we transition to this new platform. Additional reminders and updates will be shared as we approach the March 30, 2026 launch date.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
Craig Thelen-Director
